Absorption reactor
General introduction
The OdorOff odor removal method is based on chemical absorption. Smelly air is conducted through an absorption reactor using a blower. The odor-binding liquid in the reactor binds the smells and makes the air odorless. The method can be sized for even large quantities of air by changing the size of the reactor.
The system is meant only for odor removal. Not suitable for removing harmful substances or particles!
Advantages of method
The method literally removes all odors completely. It does not oxidize or biologically modify the compounds causing the foul smell into any less odor-causing form.
Absorption washer
General introduction
Smelly air is conducted through an absorption washer using a blower. Water inside the washer binds smells and impurities and simultaneously removes some of the odors in the air. The method can be sized for even large quantities of air by changing the size of the washer. The result can be made more effective by adding odor removal liquid into the washer.
Advantages of method
The method is based on a patented system developed by OdorOff Oy. A major part of odor compounds and dust etc. can be removed from the air conducted through the washer. This is an inexpensive solution on its own or to complement the use of e.g. the absorption reactor or some other odor removal method.
Activated carbon solution
General introduction
Research has shown that carbon can remove hydrogen sulfide almost completely. According to clients’ experiences, however, in some targets carbon leaves a slightly sweet smell in the environment, but this can be removed by combining the activated carbon method with the absorption method.
Advantages of method
The equipment can be placed in a small space, is maintenance-free and does not necessarily require electricity. The method can easily be expanded for even large quantities of air when a blower is added.

If the target has an extremely high content of e.g. hydrogen sulfide, most of it can be removed by using the absorption washer before using the absorption reactor or the activated carbon system. This removes 100 percent of the odor left in the air. When the washer is used, it takes longer for the odor-binding liquid or the carbon to become saturated, and the customer saves in operating costs.
OdorOff odor-binding liquid
The odor-binding liquid is used to remove disturbing smells effectively and safely from air, solid objects or materials. The odor-binding liquid is used in OdorOff’s odor removal equipment or by spraying directly on the target.
The OdorOff odor-binding liquid is sprayed carefully on the surface of the odor-causing substance, and this will form an odor-removing coating. The coating will break when waste is moved or added. Then the treatment will be repeated.
Characteristics
Clear and acidic liquid that will become dark or discolored during use due to the smelly compounds accumulating in it. During use a slight almond-like smell can be detected due to a preservative used, but it will evaporate quickly.
